Architecture: Luis Barragán in CDMX/Mexico City

Born in Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico, Barragán is arguably Mexico’s most influential architect known for his use of modernistic principles, bright colors, and a prolific portfolio. Students come from all over the world to study his projects. One of those projects, probably his most famous, San Cristóbal Equestrian Estates, is currently in the process of being turned into a center for art. The home he built for himself, Barragán House, is a UNESCO Heritage Site and Barragán himself won the Pritzker Prize in 1980. Other works include his Casa Gilardi and Torres de Satélite.
