Architecture: Arcosanti
Arcosanti was/is an experimental architectural space started in 1970 by The Cosanti Foundation and Italian-American architect Paolo Soleri. It is an attempt at Arcology, which considers ecology and sustainability into the practice of architecture. The idea was to create self-sustaining communities that worked together and that left no negative permanent environmental damage behind. Arcosanti is located in Yavapai County, Arizona.
