Samuel Nohe Ireland is currently a candidate for an MA in Photography and other artistic media at The Royal College of Art in London, UK, Class of 2025. He holds an MA in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, NYC where he focused on Conceptual Art and Relational Aesthetics, specifically focusing on the work of the Danish artist collective Superflex. Mr. Ireland also holds an MBA degree from Portland State University and an undergraduate degree from The University of Arizona with a major in History and a minor in Art History, graduating summa cum laude. He spent many of his formative years working at the Kunsthalle Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Tucson, in the Sonoran Desert, where he was born and raised. At MOCA Tucson he served in many different capacities, beginning as an intern in his late teens, and eventually serving as the institution’s Executive Director many years later. He has since served on the Board of Directors and maintains a connection to the institution as a member of the Ambassador Council. He enjoys traveling, art theory and discourse, creating and collecting contemporary art, political and economic theory, and rigorous debate. As a youth, he trained in drama, ballet, and modern dance. You will often find him walking around, taking pictures that reveal something to him about the world or that produce a sense of awe, humor, and/or wonder within him.
